General Information
Vinitech Bordeaux has constantly grown to become today the benchmark show for all professionals in the wine industry worldwide. It promises to be a key forum for the entire wine industry.
From 2 to 4 December, VINITECH will welcome wine professionals from all over the world for 3 days devoted to the latest equipment and technology. The only international event for the wine.
INNOVATIVE techniques and processes, INFORMATION and B2B NETWORKING will be the three key focuses of this session. A flagship event at VINITECH, the aim of the IDEAS FORUM is to help the industry adapt to future challenges. A forum where wine producers can share their problems and experiences, there will be some 50 talks, panel sessions and workshops.
VINITECH cultivates its unique strengths and highlights the sector's powerful economic force
"A world of exchanges in a changing world": this year, the exhibition slogan adopted in 2006 has a new visual in earth colours showing a gathering of people in the form of a bunch of grapes. A universal symbol reflecting the exhibition's mission, which is to unite the profession and stimulate the development of ideas and solutions. Vinitech is pursuing its strategy centred on the Ideas Forum and events tailored to the 3 main exhibition sections: WINE PRODUCTION will feature a Buildings and architecture area, while the highlight of the PACKAGING AND MARKETING section will be Wine, images and accessories, a showcase for products and services to promote the finished product. Meanwhile VITICULTURE will host "Conviviales viticoles", a new gastronomy and hospitality area for wine producers.
An networking opportunity stimulating direct contacts between users and manufacturers.
VINITECH – a worldwide showcase for innovation: the Awards in the spotlight
Looking to the future, innovation is highlighted at Vinitech with Innovations and perspectives – display areas dotted around the exhibition entirely devoted to presenting the latest technologies and processes developed by the exhibitors. Living proof of the vitality of the entire industry! Visitors will be able to discover all the Vinitech Award winners in one place. These awards are much more than just prizes, they are the industry's recognition for companies striving to improve the quality of wines and spirits and environmental protection. Endorsed by a jury of European scientists and technical experts, the award winners will be announced on 10 September.
VINITECH invites the industry to discuss key issues: the 2nd Ideas Forum
In 2008 the emphasis is on encouraging communication and dialogue, taking into account the many diverse issues facing wine producers. Symposia, workshops, user/supplier panel sessions etc., the Ideas Forum will stimulate discussion and the sharing of key ideas.
The content-rich programme will be carefully coordinated to ensure the audience can combine attending the talks and visiting the exhibition.
Another of Vinitech's aims is to evaluate scientific and technical progress in improving our wines through the Mondiaviti colloquium on 3 and 4 December, co-organised with the ITV, the French institute of wine technology, in association with the OIV (French international office for vines and wine) and the International Union of Oenologists. Top industry experts will discuss current issues such as sustainable development (the role of the wine grower, applications and avenues of improvement), and the market for rose wines around the world (wine production, marketing and packaging).
Participants will also have the opportunity to combine a visit to the exhibition with technical visits to various installations and cooperative wineries (including the Union des Producteurs, Cooperative de Martillac) and prestigious châteaux (Malartic-Lagraviere, Smith Haut-Lafitte, Lynch Bages, Pichon Longueville), selected for their particularly innovative technology. New this year: these visits will be theme based, addressing key issues such as total quality, traceability, circular vat houses, the treatment of vineyard and winery effluents etc. This "travel + guided tour + exhibition" package is one of Vinitech's specialities.
A vital B2B event and forum for the wine sector, VINITECH 2008 will continue to serve the industry.

The exhibition has stepped up its international promotion campaign to reach all the wine-producing countries worldwide and strengthen its network of experts and influencers. An extensive promotional drive is under way. The Vinitech teams are working closely with the Promosalons network and independent consultants. One of their main remits is to ensure that this industry gathering in Bordeaux takes place in the best possible conditions, from the simple sending out of an invitation to organising a group visit to Bordeaux. This year sees the launch of a new promotional campaign targeting Algeria, Greece, Serbia, the Dominican Republic and India. In France, a series of meetings between wine producers and the press is taking place from September, in all the main wine regions: Alsace, Champagne, Languedoc Roussillon, the South-west, the Loire valley etc.
