While there's been a noticeable push for Australians to eat meat on Australia Day, the Australian Macadamia Society is calling for macadamia nuts to be included on the menu tomorrow.

Jolyon Burnett, from the Australian Macadamia Society, says that if people are trying to be patriotic, there is no better choice.

"We're just trying to get into people's awareness and consciouness that if they're trying to be patriotic and Australian on Australia Day, there is not better way to than to use Australia's only native, internationally-traded food product, which is the macadamia nut," he says.
