Recently the National Wine Quality Supervision and Inspection Center tested 93 samples from 79 wine producers and they found that 82 products and 70 producers were qualified. The rates of qualified products and producers were 88.2% and 88.6% respectively, 25% and 23.4% higher than those in 2004.
Although the quality of domestic wines is improved gradually and the structure of product has changed, the way for the development of wine industry is sweet and bitter. There are still problems as follows:
Firstly, the ice wine market was chaos. China has no standard of ice wine and therefore the production of ice wine is lack of an effective supervision. Some small enterprises produce fake ice wine by use of ordinary sweet wine. Secondly, there is an abuse of additive in the wine industry. Thirdly, some labels of wine cannot meet the Chinese government's requirements, which stipulate that the growing region, vintage, grape varieties shall be shown on the Chinese label.
