The 28th Seoul Food & Hotel 2010 (SFH) ended May 15 in Korean International Exhibition Center (KINTEX), Cao Duong, Korea. SFH is the largest event of its type in South Korea, attracting buyers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers and manufacturers from across Korea and Asia in food industry. This year 2010, over 700 Korean domestic companies and more than 400 overseas exhibitors coming from 32 countries attended SFH. China pavilion is the largest one only second to Korean pavilion among all international pavilions, with more than 60 booths, exhibiting various Chinese foods.
There are 5 halls this year in 2010, including food machinery and packaging technology hall, Korea hall and international hall. Compared with 2009, much more international pavilions appeared. We 21Food annually attend Seoul Food & Hotel 2010 (SFH). And especially this year, it is our first time organizing group of Beijing representatives among 21Food China Pavilion. The Beijing group is combined by 7 exhibitors, with exhibiting area of 63 square meters. Other China pavilion group organizers are Qingdao CCPIT, Dalian CCPIT, Sichuan CCPIT and Hubei CCPIT, totally organizing up to more than 60 exhibitors. Among the exhibiting foods from China pavilion, most are about agricultural and by-products, and then is food additives. In Beijing representatives group, only one company is for seafood products, anyhow the result is encouraging. Among all exhibiting Chinese foods, chestnuts, fresh vegetables, organic teas and food additives received the best results.
Chinese exhibitors are as busy as bees during each day of exhibition. Even after exhibition closing time of each day, they are invited by Korean customers for business discussing.
Seoul Food & Hotel 2010 (SFH) opened on May 12 is a big event that caught worldwide medias. 21Food as the leading website media in food industry attended as schedule as well, for Chinese Food Suppliers Directory and CD-ROMs distributing, biz matchmaking, global buyers including Korean buyers purchasing info sourcing, food market trend and info sourcing, etc.
Korea, although as the 13th largest trading country in worldwide regarding trade volume, its agricultural products exporting is not encouraging because the land and farming areas are not large enough to grow all needed grains for human consuming and poultry feeding. Anyhow, as a country that with industrialization graduating developing and labor cost continually increasing, Korea have to depend on importation to facilitate food business developing. China, with abundant food products resources, is the major importing country for Korea. Among Chinese food products, the vegetables, beans, grains, to be more detailed, say soya beans, sesame seeds, walnuts, garlic, green leaves vegetables, teas, purees, etc. are well accepted and thought highly by Korean buyers. Meanwhile, the consumption level and public awareness of health care in Korea are rather high, so Chinese healthy foods are well recognized in Korea as well.
On May 15, 2010, Seoul Food & Hotel 2010 (SFH) came to an end. Foods brought by China pavilion once again deeply expressed exhibitors and visitors worldwide during this tradeshow. 21Food is looking forward to leading more Chinese companies go for this exhibition in year 2011!
In the evening of May 15, 21Food led China pavilion fly to the famous Korean tourism city Cheju Island. There we had visited the famous local supermarket E-MART and made investigation on the local food market.
