Africa's Finest Nech Shiro
Made from ground chick peas. Neche shiro is roasted ground chickpea legume (garbanzo beans) powder used to make a homogenous wat/wot (stew /sauce) base. Minced onions, garlic, and depending upon regional variation, ground ginger is often added to the preparation. A popular Ethiopian dish, shiro is mixture of netch azmud (white cumin/Bishop Weed), Fenugreek, rue and korerima (Ethiopian cardamom). Shiro is usually served atop injera (a low gluten sourdough flat bread of fermented teff grain cardamom, netch azmud and rue. It is tasty and healthy!
