Yunnan Green Banna Ecological Food Co., Ltd. (BE) is a Sino-foreign joint-venture enterprise that is engaged in bio-technological research and development as well as production and processing. BE, making full use of international capital and advanced technology, combines the advantages of natural resources and biological diversity of Xishuangbanna and Simao prefectures, Yunnan, P.R.China. and devotes itself to the research and development of rain forest-based ecological industry and bio-technology.
So far, BE has established plantation bases with an area of several thousand mu for producing tropical fruits and rare plant varieties in Xishuangbanna and Simao prefectures. The bases have been awarded the Certificate of Conformity of European Union Country Organic Products by ECOCERT SA . The company has built, in the central part of the bases, tissue cultivate laboratories as well as some supplementary facilities such as pressing factories and cold storages. It uses the new advanced technology in selecting and breeding unique varieties. No chemical fertilizers or insecticides are ever used in the planting process, and no preservatives are used in the fruit processing. It is guaranteed that the process from fruit picking, processing to freezing is completed within 24 hours.
BE has abundant technological and financial resources. It has a strong cast of excellent professors and experts, who form an R& D department. Now it has a total of 50 employees, of whom there are 2 doctors, 1 master, 20 professional technicians with formal schooling of or above universities or colleges, and 10 persons with the R&D department. They account for 40% of the employees.
BE, relying on the production bases as well as following the practice of 'company plus farmers' model,develops its bases for producing tropical organic fruits. At present, it grows tropical fruits of passionfruit, pineapple, mango, etc. With such material, it produces the organic and natural passionfruit flavour additive (i.e. Frozen/Dried Passionfruit Juice Powder), etc. in a line of BE products.
