Birth season and beginning catching is after Lunar Tet Holidays each year. Herring has rapidly growth. Within 30-45 days, baby herring can be up from 3-5 cm to 7-9 cm; special at Vung Tau sea herring has fastest growth up 9-11cms, 11-13cms, and 13-15cms.
In Viet Nam, Herring quantity is not much more than anchovy quantity. Catching situation at several years recently has shown. This material quantity is not enough to supply to factories. In catching at present has some problem are: catching technology and bad maintain material at cold warehouse. Day ? time herring has better quality than night - time catching, which reaches herring fish has more broken on head and stomach, few silver on the body.
