Description: White to slightly yellow plates and powder. Characteristic odor.



Pyrogallol was first obtained in 1786 from Gallic acid,by heating with water under pressure. It is the oldest photographic developer. Pyrogallol can be used in gas analysis as a reagent, in the synthesis of dyestuff, medicines and pesticide. It is also used in electroplating dying aluminum materials .
