| Hefei Jianghuai Horticulture Institute mainly engages in breeding, production and marketing of new horticultural varieties with fine quality. Our research mainly focuses on hot (sweet) pepper, melon, little watermelon and occidental type pumpkin in the near future. We successively breed and spread 8 pepper varieties of slight and good hot taste, 6 colored series pepper varieties and 7 hybrid melon varieties. In respect of breeding watermelon, we mainly aim to breed New, particular and fine varieties, such as seedless watermelon and little fruit type watermelon. At present, we have bred some fine watermelon varieties to spread. In respect of breeding pumpkin, under occidental type pumpkin varieties as our breeding orientation, we have bred a red rind, pumpkin variety, which quality is superior. Furthermore, we have built hybrid seeds production bases in some regions |
