In 1867, as Canada was becoming a country, a young man in Torre de Passeri, in the rugged Italian region of Abruzzo, was first opening the doors of his tiny macelleria (butcher shop).
It was the beginning of the traditions that have been handed down to Cappola Foods today. For Camillo Cappola trained his son Domenico, who then passed on his knowledge to Giovanni, who in turn taught his sons Domenic and Lelio the art of Italian meats.
Today, Domenic and Lelio continue to oversee the preparation of all our fine meats and are passing the torch their own children. Cappola Foods now produces a full range of Italian specialty meats - all crafted with the same artistry and loving care as those original prociutto.
