Facing the challenges of the time, the founders of COTRIJUI had something in common: to add up all the strength possible to search for solutions that would meet the collective needs. The fight against ants, the reception and storage of the production were also some of the problems to be solved. On July 20th 1957, the pioneers gathered in a borrowed room found the Cooperativa Regional Triticola Serrana Ltda - COTRIJUI, today known as COTRIJUI - Cooperativa AgropecuĻāria & Industrial.
From this day on, the growth of the social chart made the investments multiply along with the capacity and of the grain storage, in many units that spreading to the northeast region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the west frontier and the campaign regions.
COTRIJUI has diversified its activities and today is a cooperative of processing, industrialization and commercialization of agricultural products with more than 16.000 thousend associates. Direct technical assistance is offered to the associates, which guarantees the quality of the raw material and an increase on productivity.
From this production we can highlight the soybean, wheat, oatmeal, sunflower, milk an pork. That through the cooperative reaches thousands of people throughout Brazil and the world through the brands: TchĻo, Cooper Cereals, Leviesti Rice, Rations and Concentrates Vita Cotrijui, and COTRIJUI seeds.
This actions reveal impressive numbers. COTRIJUI receives more than 500 thousend tons of grains and gives assistance to around 1500 produceres of milk that together produce approximately 70 million litters of milk per year, and slaughters around 300 pork heads annually.
The cooperative has the capacity to store 800 thousand tons, in cells with aeration and thermometric, which guarantees the quality of the grains. The number and results of COTRIJUI are expressive and are a result of associates work, who are distributed in 35 counties, adding up to than 1900 workers. |
