INTERFOOD Ltd. spol. s r.o. was established in Ostrava, Czech Republic in 1992. Until 1999 the company's main business activity was focused on trading (export and import) with food products.
In 1999, a new production hall was built, and soft drinks production got launched in. At that time the production was oriented on syrups and drinks concentrates.
Since 2001 fruit soft drinks have been the main product assortment (with a share of fruits from 12.5% to 100%) packaged in PET bottles. In this segment, we have ranked among the leading suppliers in Central Europe as for the market share.
In 2003, the production of HAWAI fruit juices was launched. In those days, our competitive advantage rested in a modern and attractive packing; PET bottles were covered with a shrink/sleeve label. In connection with this product we launched an extensive promotional TV campaign. And finally, on the occasion of the Grand Prix for Marketing Innovations, the product was granted the 2003 Product Award.
Since 2006 the fruit drinks in smaller packaging intended especially for children have been the carrying products of the company. These products include: BĻājo 0.25 l (soft drink with children's tattoo stickers under labels), Surprise 0.3 l (soft drink with a toy), and Jussy Pocket 0.2 l (soft drink in a special packaging, i.e. standing pouch with capsule).
In addition to the Czech Republic, the key markets of the company also include Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, the Netherlands, and Hungary.
In 2004, a large investment in an affiliated company in China was made within our expansion project. A factory with a capacity of 100 million litres of fruit drinks per year intended for the Chinese market was built. After two years of construction the production was successfully launched in 2006. |
