Already in the year 1923 the Meybona Schokoladenfabrik was founded by Emil Meyerkamp and his wife Luise in L?hne-Bischofshagen, where the company is seated still today. At this time a large range of sweets - beneath chocolate also candies like peppermint and jelly products - were made mainly by handwork. In the beginning Meybona articles were sold only regional. During the following time the production was automated more and more and management concentrated on the production of chocolates. Distribution was already practised national to this time. Especially the window packing with whole nuts and the Christmas and Easter bars, which were developed in this time, contributed to this trend.
For being able to take over business later, the daughters Anneliese and Ursula early joined the company. In this connection Ursula Deppendorf first concentrated on production while Anneliese Meyerkamp learned the commercial sector. Even at the beginning of the eighties Anneliese Meyerkamp achieved first success by exporting Meybona chocolates. After death of Emil Meyerkamp 1990 the two sisters took over business.
In the year 1990 also Axel Deppendorf, son of Ursula Deppendorf, joined the company. Continuos expansion of export began, which reached its peak with the opening of Eastern Europe. After Axel Deppendorf first took over production management from his mother he also took the responsibility for sales later. In the year 1998 Meybona started production of the popular Greetings chocolates. After Anneliese Meyerkamp died one year later, business was run by Ursula Deppendorf and her son Axel.
We see our self-image as a company that is aware of traditions and as a particular chocolate manufacturer that always produces best chocolates. Our programme offers, beneath the classical Meybona chocolate bars and the innovative Greetings Chocolates, also advertising bars and Private Labels. For this we only concentrate on trend products or very special chocolate bars that were made individual for the wishes of our customers. |
