From our humble beginnings, in a small shop just outside Armagh, to a multi-million pound manufacturing and distribution business, the story of Linwoods is what you would call 'success in the making'. The company began importing bread from Southern Ireland to distribute to the retail trade in Northern Ireland. Soon afterwards we took on the distribution of milk through the Province in dual purpose refrigerated/ambient vehicles making deliveries more cost effective. The Linwoods and Harvest Pride brands were established.
Recognising the need for a local home-baked product, we opened a brand new 25,000 sq. ft purpose built bakery in 1996, which today is a leading bakery in Northern Ireland. Consistency and teamwork are the key to the quality of our products, our bakery is a careful balance of automation and personal touch.
In keeping with the professionalism and ongoing success of our retail customers, our company has made a substantial investment in our new milk processing plant. The dairy which opened in October 2004, is one of the most modern, hygenic and automated plants in Ireland. It can process 22,000 litres of milk every hour. With the creation of 15 new jobs it has increased the workforce at Linwoods to 200.
More recently, our focus has been on introducing a new Linwoods healthy eating range, which includes the introduction of Organic Milled Flaxseed - nature's richest source of Omega-3.
