Description:

Baby corn is a tall, straight annual plant. The baby corn cob is creamy-white, long and tapering. The small seeds arranged around the cob, are light yellow which called fish roe. The cob is covered with several layers of a thin membrane. Between the flesh and the skin there is a clear, green, silky fiber. Baby corn is the variety that is eaten when the corn is very young. The baby corn is firm and crispy. It can be eaten as kaeng liang or boiled and eaten with nam prik, clear soup. Baby corn is grown extensively in Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Lop Buri, Suphanburi and Kanchanaburi provinces. The plant is propagated through seeds. (approximate size of the cob is 1.5 to 2 cm. I ndiameter and 9 to 13 cm. in length)
