L-Carnitine (Acetyl LCarnitine) is an amino acid primarly used as a nutritional and weight loss supplement. L-Carnitine is white crystal or a white crystalline hygroscopic powder. It has a slight characteristic odor. L-Carnitine is so hygroscopic that can liquefy when it is exposure to air. L-Carnitine is highly soluble in water, alcohol, alkaline solution and dilute mineral acids. It is almost insoluble in acetone or ethyl acetate.
