Quality characteristics
. Flandria aubergines are very good quality.
. The colour is purple and the fruit is shiny.
. Their shape is regular and they are not burned by the sun.
. The fruit is well developed (correct harvest time).
. The calyx is intact and the short stem is cut off level.
. The fruit is firm.
Storage life
Aubergines are best kept at 15°C with a relative humidity of 90 to 95%.
Do not keep them together with fruit that produce ethylene such as tomatoes, apples, bananas and citrus fruit. Cover to prevent dehydration.
Grades
Divided into various grades:
+ 500 g, 400 - 500 g, 300 - 400 g, 225 - 300 g, 175 - 225 g
