Taittinger's Rosé Millésimé is an inspired blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% chardonnay sourced from all-Grand Cru vineyards including those of Bouzy for some of the Pinot Noir, with the Chardonnay taken from the Côte des Blancs. In order to create a wine that meets the exacting criteria for depth and structure Taittinger demand for their Comtes Rosé, only the juices from the first pressing are used. The wine is then aged for a minimum of 8 years in their cellars, resulting in a Rosé with a charming roundness of structure, and the development of beguilingly complex aromas of wild berries, redcurrants, blackcurrant leaf and licorice.
Beautifully rich with a generous yet balanced fruitiness, this Comtes Rosé benefitted from a cool growing season and intensely warm ripening period. The result was fruit that was both high yielding and intensely flavoured, but which also had a particularly high level of structure and complexity. Both invigorating and refined, with a promise of further greatness to come.
