Established to produce frozen ready-made doner in Germany in 1981 by the Tutuncubasi brothers of Eskisehir under the trade name Karmez GmbH, Karmez is known as the number one doner producer of Europe which sells frozen doner to all the European countries. It is selling doner and bread (special doner pita and tortilla) are sold through Karmez's warehouses and sub-wholesalers in Belgium, France, Italia and Spain to all European countries. The family planned to erect in Turkey a modern plant operating in an industrial manner for the production for the production of bread and bread varieties and bakery products purposing the sale doner at such sales points. In order to close the existing gap in the bread production in industrial, modern, good quality and hygienic conditions in Turkey and to export frozen doner pita abroad, Karmez Birlesik Gida San. ve Tic. A.S. was incorporated in 1996 by the Tutuncubasi brothers. In the plant which was constructed on a covered area of approximate 10000 sqm at the 40th kilometre on the Ankara Highway in Kemalpasa/Izmir modern technology is used. Karmez is targeting to be the number one in Turkey with its quality and rich product range of approx. 250 varieties. It is selling to 1600 points particularly in Izmir and environment, Mugla and environment, Balikesir and environment, Eskisehir, Afyon, Denizli, Aydin, Ankara and Istabul and to military facilities, hotels and large and small markets besides many hyper-markets. In the next days it will start with its sales in the further provinces too. The countries to which we are exporting doner pita and tortilla are particularly the countries of the European Community. In the production, distribution and handling stages of our products packing materials conforming to the regulations about protection of the environment and in harmony with the environment are deployed and the package wastes are regularly collected and it is prevented that they harm the environment.
