The farming enterprise castello di san donato in perano S. p. A. is located in the area surrounding the hamlet of castello di san donato in perano and stretches over a total surface of about 360 hectares, divided as follows:
Approx. 260 ha of wooded areas.
Approx. 25 ha of cultivated olive groves, destined for the production of dop chianti classico olive oil
Approx. 75 cadastral ha destined for vine cultivation.
The company produces excellent chianti classico docg and chianti classico riserva wines, together with supertuscans, a chianti classico grappa and an exquisite extra virgin olive oil dop.
The estate vineyards and olive groves are located in the heart of the chianti classico area, in the boroughs of gaiole in chianti and radda in chianti, at an altitude varying between 300 and 500 meters above sea level. The soil is highly stony and presents steep slopes (gradients of up to 15-20% ) : these intrinsic features contribute to optimize drainage. The favorable climatic exposure allows the area to benefit from the dry weather during summer, while september is usually characterized by dramatic temperature changes occurring between night and day. Thanks to these advantageous climatic and environmental conditions, it is possible to produce wines and oils of such quality and structure.
The residential village.
The castle san donato is a medieval village in the heart of the marvellous chianti hills. The ancient castle offers a wide range of apartments, obtained from the interior of the castle itself. All apartments, each of them presenting its own features, were accurately renovated with respect to tradition and giving one the possibility to adapt the apartments size on specific request.
The complex includes a heated swimming pool hidden amongst the olive groves, broadband internet, satellite TV.

At our wine bar it is possible to enjoy a light snack, taste and directly buy wine from our cellar together with other products, such as oil, honey, jams, wine jellies, vinegar, balsamic vinegar, zolfini and toscanelli beans, pink chick-peas and spices. The wine bar is open all year.

It is a spacious and pleasant environment. The main dining room with an open fire-place is divided into comfortable and cosy surroundings. The smaller dining room, also with an open fire-place, has splendid views of the chianti hills and the terraces overlook the vineyards of the estate.
Many local products of the highest quality are employed in our restaurant. The restaurant is open from march till november.
