Chlorophyll is the name of the leaf pigment of the higher plants an green algae. It gives them

the green colour and enables the photosynthesis. You find the Chlorophyll in the chloroplasts

of the plants.

The Chlorophyll of the higher plants and green algae is not a single substance but consists of Chlorophyll a and b which can be seperated in two fractions by chromatography.

Chlorophyll a is bluish green coloured and Chlorophyll b yellow green.

It is proven that Chlorophyll has got a positive effect on the generation of blood and tissue.

Furthermore it is said that Chlorophyll has got desodorized properties.

Chlorophyll is to be used as colourant in the food stuff-, cosmetic- and candle industry,

often in the form of Chlorophylline, too.
