Fort Glen Blender's Reserve has spent a minimum of 12 long years maturing in oak barrels and includes a selection of some of the finest Malt Whiskies from all of the main regions of Scotch whisky production and so embodies the heart and soul of Scotch whisky. There are peat influences from the distilleries of Islay, the steely dryness from the distilleries of the Northern Highlands combining with the sweet and floral high notes from the distilleries of the Speyside region. These are all lovingly blended together with the gentle smoothness from the Lowlands and the obvious quality of the long aged grain.

Fort Glen Blender's Reserve won a Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in March 2011 (where the market leading Chivas Regal 12 year old only scored Bronze...)  This is an exceptionally smooth and tasteful whisky.

Whisky Magazine recently tasted Fort Glen Blender's Reserve 12 year old blended Scotch whisky where their Martine Nouet commented;

Nose - Rich and buttery, butterscotch, greengage jam. Elegant grain note.  Sweet, with a good integration of wood and oak. Some depth

Palate - Round, appetising, toffee, salted butter caramel, hint of marzipan, some fruit too. oranges with a pinch of cinnamon.

Finish - Warm, creamy, slightly nutty.

Comments - Appetising, pudding-like but not oversweet. Well balanced. To enjoy with a Dundee cake.

Aged 12 years and blended for extra smoothness, this is an exceptional whisky.  The judges at the 2011 San Francisco World Spirits Competition considered it to be better than Chivas Regal and we will not argue with this!
