A product was listed for the first time under Aker Seafoods’ own brand in 2006, and the share of processed products supplied to private labels increased substantially.
The processing plants owned by Aker Seafoods operate both in the fresh and frozen fillet market – with main focus on fillets, potions and blocks as their principal products. In addition, the company operates in the markets for salted fish, fresh whole fish, breaded, marinated and filled fish, and king crab.
Aker Seafoods' activities are based on wild fish resources. The Aker Seafoods Group harvests, processes, and sells seafood from regulated fisheries that are and will remain renewable if properly managed.
Aker Seafoods is among the largest employers in Norway's fisheries industry, and one of Norway's leading producers and exporters of fish products. Most of our harvesting and primary processing is of white fish.
Aker Seafoods AS was listed on Oslo Stock Exchange in May 2005, after the combination of the companies Norway Seafoods AS, West Fish-Aarsæther AS and Nordic Sea Holding AS. Aker ASA is the major shareholder of Aker Seafoods ASA with an ownership of 65.0 per cent. Our company headquarters are located at Aker Brygge in Oslo, Norway.
