PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL STANDARDS:

Moisture: Should not exceed 18.6% under any circumstances.

Flavor: Free from objectionable flavor and odor - preferably mild.

Color: According to Pfund Scale: 51-85mm.

Turbidity: Clear and free from suspended solids or crystals.

Chemical: (a) Soluble solids 81.4%

(b) Ash 0.10 to 0.20%

(c) pH 3.0 to 4.9

Clarity: Honey will be free from foreign matter such as wax, propolis,

bees, bee fragments or dirt.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE STANDARDS:

Shipping containers shall be sound and clean and shall conform to the applicable provision of the

U.S. standards for condition of food containers. Re-used containers shall be properly sanitized

prior to packing and, under no circumstances, shall acceptance be made of those with possible

adulteration with objectionable odor of flavor from previous use of container. The expected shelf

life shall be six months.
