The laver (Nori) fishery in Ise Bay dates back to eh Heian period, over 1000yeas ago. They were offered to Grand Shrine of Ise, Imperial Dynasty and other shrines. The Ise bay is located where three of the largest river, Kiso, Ibi and Nagara river, join into. Nutritive substances brought by these three rivers is the special gift for its laver fishery.
