Haddocks are located at a depth of 40-300 metres. They draw towards their spawn place at wintertime; the north of the North Sea, the coast of Midt-Norway, southwest Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Their migration habit is not widely known, but they can undertake very long journeys. Haddock feeds on molluscs, spawn, herring, capelin and fry. At the sea bottom they suck the molluscs in through the mouth, and the mud/ooze is squirted out through the gills.
