Balugani Prosciutti S.r.l. started its production of cured hams in 1990. In the curing facility at Poggio S.Ilario di Felino (Parma) hams are seasoned, while in the modern factory at Montale Rangone (Modena), hams are boned, trimmed and packed. The company's policy is based on two assets: to offer a wide range of raw ham and to give a peculiar care and attention to the quality system. Balugani can offer raw ham with bone, boned, in quarters and a new product "Deliziosa Balugani", which is a dried ham obtained from selected raw materials, completely skinned and processed in square shape. The company has implemented a quality system according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 certification. Moreover, the traceability procedures permit a total control on the final product. Balugani is export oriented (35% on the turnover) and is qualified to export to Chile, Argentina, Brazil, U.S.A., Canada, Cuba, Croatia, Japan, Switzerland, Slovenia, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic. The target of the company is to integrate the traditional and long-standing techniques in the ham production with the use of leading edge technology.
