In the early days the main business of the factory was producing ve-tsin gourmet powder (monosodium glutamate). The main material of ve-tsin gourmet powder was wheat starch, while the main ingredient was monosodium glutamate. Our company also had a chlor-alkali workshop which produced hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide for its own use. Since 1950s' the demand for chemical increased largely due to the rapid development of textile and dyeing industry in hong kong. Under this condition we expanded the equipments in the chlor-alkali workshop. Apart from hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide, it also began to produce bleach solution (sodium hypochlorite) and some other chemicals so as to meet the demands of the market.
