Mogroside is a chemical compound,and constitudes a glycoside of cucurbitane derivatives. They are found in certain plants, such as the fruit of the gourd vine luo han guo (Siraitia grosvenorii). Most of these compounds are soluble in ethanol . Some mogrosides are natural sweeteners. The pure mogroside mix extracted from the S. grosvenorii fruit is 300 times sweeter than sugar. Pure mogroside-v can be up to 400 times as sweet. Mogrosides have also been investigated as possible anticancer agents.
