Camposol is an agro-industrial company to the cultivation, harvesting, processing and export of asparagus, avocado, sweet pepper, artichokes, mangos and other vegetables. These products are sold fresh, frozen and in cans.
The company began operations in 1997 with the purchase of the first land through a public auction held by the Peruvian Government in the Special CHAVIMOCHIC Project. This is an irrigation project that made water available to more than 47,000 hectares of desert on the northern coast of Peru, with a total investment of more than a thousand million U.S. dollars. To date, as a result of the project, more than 15,000 hectares have been developed in the area by several companies.
Camposol established its first agricultural operations and at the end of 1999 began its agro-industrial exports, that are still processed today in the Chao industrial complex, located at km 493.5 on the northern Pan-American highway in the district of Chao, in Trujillo Province, La Libertad Department.
The vision and commitment of all those involved resulted in Camposol. quickly becoming the leading agro-industrial in Peru, heading the list of agro-exports year after year, generating more than 12,000 jobs directly and providing an important economic development to the region. It is expected that exports in 2007 will exceed US$120 million.
At present the company owns 15,500 hectares of land of which 5,300 hectares will be under cultivation at the end of 2007 and some 1,500 hectares will be incorporated into production during the following year. Today our agro-industrial complex consists of six processing plants, three of which are for canned products, two for fresh products and one for frozen products.
