Natural hazelnut kernels are the kernels of hazelnutstaken out of their hard shells.

Hazelnut kernels are processed as extra, class 1 and class2. the minimum diameter for extra and class 1 hazelnut kernels is9 mm. Hazelnutkernels with a diameter smaller than this figure are called as slender orpicola (69 mm) hazelnuts.

Uses:

80% of hazelnut kernels are used in the chocolatemanufacturing industry (after being ground, sliced and minced) and in theproduction of biscuits, Candies and ice cream. They are also consumed as appetizers.
