HunterLab on-line instruments make real time color measurements of your product, without contact or intrusion, as it is being produced. From the beginning to end, production runs can be continuously monitored to identify color variation and out-of-spec product. This information helps you make permanent process improvements, while providing assurance that your product is within specification and allowing you to make shipment and allocation decisions. Systems Designed For Your Needs
The application determines the type of sensor best suited to your measurement needs. Spectrophotometers and Colorimeters provide end-to-end, single point, or side-to-side color information through a variety of mounting designs. No matter which configuration is best for your application, each system performs continuous monitoring and measures color automatically by computer control.
In addition to quality assurance information, HunterLab on-line systems also help you streamline process monitoring and control. Process changes affecting product color are more quickly isolated. Real-time color data makes experimenting with process variables easier and helps you identify and eliminate those leading to off shade product. Process corrections can be achieved faster.

Our History
In October 1952, with a dream, great courage and a wife willing to dust off her high school shorthand, typing and junior high school bookkeeping, Richard S. Hunter set up shop in the three upstairs bedrooms of his childhood home in McLean, Virginia, which was a rural area at that time. A hand-painted sign portraying an abbreviated color spectrum with "HunterLab" superimposed in black announced its presence.
HunterLab Now and in the Future
The company continued to grow and in the early 60's added a manufacturing location in nearby Arlington Virginia, but working in separate locations was difficult. So in 1965, the company moved both locations to Fairfax, Virginia. Finally, in June 1978, HunterLab broke ground on its own building in Reston, Virginia. Originally, HunterLab I was built but, in 1985 HunterLab II was built next door and this is the current corporate headquarters.
