The Joint Stock Company 'Basvinex' is engaged in exporting Bassarabian wines, which won wide recognition in Europe as early as the 60's of the 19th century. 'Basvinex' was found in 1996 in a picturesque forest on the outskirts of the village of Branesti, which is 40 kilometers from Chisinau. The Company rented a subterranean wine deposit with an area of 20 kilometers, bought modern equipment from the Italian firm 'Kronimpianti', installed a bottling line, found high-skilled specialists, that missed a real and interesting business, and invited Italian consultants. Already during the first year the Company produced 160 thousand bottles of high-quality Moldovan wines. In two years the manufacture was completely privatized, and in 2000 'Basvinex' crossed the threshold of seven million bottles. In 2001 'Basvinex' produced 14 million bottles and became one of five largest exporters of Moldova. During the first half of 2002 'Basvinex' exported more than 7.5 million bottles.

The Joint Stock Company 'Basvinex' purchase grape and wine material from the leading farms of Moldova situated in the well-known winemaking zones - Hincesti, Cahul, Vulcanesti. Besides, next year 'Basvinex' is going to purchase vineyards in the very center of Moldovan winemaking, in the famous Purcari zone.

Today, the Joint Stock Company 'Basvinex' produces more than 80 names of white and red wines united in six collections: classically sorted, 'monastic', 'Bulgarian', vintage, 'representational' and a collection with the romantic title 'A Journey Across Europe'.
