One can describe this wine as highly concentrated with a good extract, but we still prefer describing the wine only as a pure Cabernet Sauvignon. Mint chocolate aromas well complimented by moccha flavours. Soft elegant tannins on a full bodied mouthfeel ? toasting of barrels evident on aftertaste providing structure and boost to strong fruit extraction and bringing this titan of berries to its rigthful place.
IN THE VINEYARD
This wine shows why Cabernet Sauvignon is still the father of all grapes ? a focussed and pure wine with no playing about, but a wine made to show what Cabernet Sauvignon is known for.
Made from a mixture of fruit from both the Eastern and Western sides of Stellenbosch where we have vineyards. The Bottelary side (west) known for sweeter fruited Cabernets whereas the Helderberg side (east) known for deeper concentrated green flavoured Cabernets.

Stellenrust was established in 1928 and has ever since produced some of the most superb quality wines that the Stellenbosch region from South Africa can offer. It consists of about 400ha (200ha planted) of which half is stretched over the Golden Triangle area of Stellenbosch, internationally recognised for some of the best red wine soil in South Africa. The other half is situated high up in the Bottelary Hills, renowned for its cool climate and late afternoon sea breezes swooping in from Cape Town to nurture both excellent white and red wines.
Stellenrust boasts today with being one of the largest family owned wine estates in South Africa carrying through generations of winemaking skills and the legacy of our motto 'where excellence meets winemaking' put forward in every bottle.
Stellenrust currently boasts with very modern tasting facilities combining Cape Dutch, Art Deco and Africa themes to a confluent majestical sight with great views over Table Mountain, Helderberg and Stellenbosch mountains as well as the fairest Cape.
We also have a tasteful venue, which can accommodate up to 350 guests, situated amongst the vineyards outside the epic town of Stellenbosch. We focus ourselves on tasteful elegance and tastings are conducted in the same way with some surprising delights to complement our range of award winning wines.
