2)SPECIFICATION

1.      Kernels are processed only by sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.)Processing is under standard as per product information written down below:

·This standard applies to mechanically hulled seeds, from varieties (cultivars) grown from Helianthus annuus L., f. Asteraceae to be supplied to the consumers.

·The purpose of the standard is to define the quality requirements of mechanically hulled seeds after preparation and packing.

· Mechanically hulled seeds shall be safe, not irradiated and suitable for processing for human consumption.

·The condition of the mechanically hulled seeds shall be such as to enable them to withstand normal transport and handling, and to arrive in a satisfactory condition at the place of destination.

2.      Row materials are free from GMO;

3.      Organoleptical (gustatory) analyze:

·Color – off-white, gray, uniform color;

· Appearance – Angular, flat, oval shaped seeds;

· Taste – Typical, nutty, free of strong, stale or rancid taste;

· Odour – Clean fresh aroma, free from off texture odours;

· Consistency – Typical for sunflower nuts, firm, not brittle or soggy;

4.      Physical requirements:

· Size – min. 601 – max. 850 pcs/ounce for bakery grade, min 501 – 600 pcs/ounce for premium bakery and min. 350 – 500 pcs/ounce for confectionary type;

· Moisture- min. 4,5 % max. 8 %;

·Purity – min 99.95 %;

· Broken kernels (less than ½ whole meat) – max 5 %;

·Heat damage – max 0.5 %;

·Insect damage – max. 0.5%;

· Bitter kernels – max. 0.5 %;

· Sclerotinia – not allowed;

·Presence of weed seeds – max 1 pcs per kg;
