Riesling Grand Cru Engelberg
The Riesling Grand Cru Engelberg terroir consists of three south-facing terraces.
The shallow layer of soil sits on top of hard limestone, forcing the roots to grow through cracks in the limestone.
The grapes mature very regularly and achieve remarkable balance on maturity. The wines reflect the character of the terroir: the high aromatic concentration, fullness and tight acid structure making it an ideal wine for laying down.
While the young wine offers an impressive overall harmony, the Engelberg reaches its true level of sophistication and complexity after a few years.
