Taiwanese red tilapia is cultivated through crossbreeding wild Oreochromis niloticus and sudden-changed breed of Oreochromis mossambicus. The institute of aquatic products of fresh water in Shandong introduced this kind of fish to our plant in 1992. Red tilapia grow well in fresh water, and it is able to bear salt better than Oreochromis niloticu and Niao fish, so it gained the attention of the people who breed marine products.
