Beta glucanase is an enzyme that acts on glucan (a carbohydrate found in barley and oats); and it can be used in the brewing industry to hydrolyze glucans which interfere with the clarification of wort and filtration of beer; It is also used in the animal feed industry.

Activity: 1 unit of β-glucanase equals to the amount of enzyme, which hydrolyzesβ-glucosan to get 1μg of reducing sugar (in glucose) in 1 min. at 50?? and pH 5.0.
