Blackcurrant or Ribes nigrum, is a species of Ribes Berry native to central and northern Europe and  northern Asia and is a perennial. It is a small shrub growing to 12 m tall. The main producing area of blackcurrant in China are Daxinganling area of Hei Longjiang province and the north part of Xinjiang province.
