Herdade dos Templarios red premium wine 75cl
Winemaker tasting notes:
Wild berries, dark plum aromas; subtle spice and chocolate notes. Finishes long with ripe and smooth tannins.
Reviews:
The red berry flavor is attractive and fresh and the acidity is lean.

Eucalyptus, dry wood, some cocoa toasted, hidden red fruit, such as strawberries and raspberries. Easy in the mouth, soft tannins and correct acidity. A very well made wine.

Grapes Varieties: Castelao 40%, Aragonez 40% and Alicante Bouschet 20%
Castelao: Is one of the grape varieties most cultivated in the south of Portugal, particularly in the area of the Ribatejo. Castelao develops best in hot climates and sandy and dry soils.
Wines produced by this grape variety are concentrated, aromatic (raspberry and gooseberry) and have good ageing potential.
Aragonez: Is one of the most famous grape varieties of the Iberian Peninsula. It is originally from Spain. As this grape variety easily adapts to different climates and soils, its cultivation has been spread to Ribatejo. In order for the Aragonez qualities to be excellent, its production has to be controlled. Ideal are sandy and carbonate-clayey soils in hot and dry climates, to make the production lower and the berries more concentrated.
This grape variety produces wines with high alcohol content and low acidity, ideal for ageing, as they are very resistant to rust.
Alicante Bouschet: Quickly became popular, not just for its intense coloring but for its generous yields. With its high-yielding, easy-to-grow vines. Portugal are working hard to change people’s perception of the variety and prove that, when grown properly, it is capable of making great wine that is fruity, fresh and balanced.
