Latin Name : Ocimum Basilicum Common Name : Basilikon Phuton, Greek for ingly Herb? Native to India, the Middle East and some Pacific Islands. Cultivated in the Mediterranean for centuries and came over to Western Europe in the 16th Century. It has a fascinating history, it is said to have been found growing around Christ tomb after the resurrection yet in Western Europe it was thought to have belonged to the Devil and been a repellent against witches!

Unifrost division Kortemark houses the groups state-of-the-art ready meals plant and is also the packing center for the frozen herbs and ingredients.
