INACO-REFOSCO DAL PEDUNCOLO ROSSO 2008
Grape VARIETY: Pure Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso from the Le Monde vineyards exposed from North to South on a slight slope, located in Prata di Pordenone.
TERRAIN: Soil of alluvial origin; clayey with a tendentially dolomitic limestone subsoil, rich with microelements.
CULTIVATION: Guyot, with a density of 5.000Plants/hectare.
HARVEST PERIOD: Part of the grapes on the plateau is harvested during the second and third decades of September, whereas the remaining part is harvested in the first ten days of October when the grapes are over-mature.
VINIFICATION: Two separate wine-making processes with cold maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation. The wines are then blended and aged in oak barriques for at least 24 months before being bottled and left to age in bottle for a further 10-12 months.
CELLARING POTENTIAL: Good ageing wine.
COLOUR: Ruby red colour with violet reflections, dense and regular legs.
BOUQUET: Intense and persistent, with a rich setting of currants and Blackberries upfront, musk, pepper, cinnamon, tobacco and walnut.
FLAVOUR: Warm, soft and enveloping on the palate with a good sapidity. Complex, stylish and poised structure with a rounded aftertaste.
PAIRINGS: This wine goes well with red meat roasts and game.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18 C.
