The south eastern Wine Region of Australia covers a wide range of wine growing areas, including the eastern parts of South Australia down to the Coonawarra, all the producing areas of Victoria and New South Wales and even the southern parts of Queensland.

Our wines are made from grapes from a specific vineyard area that winds itself along both sides of Australia’s major waterways, the Murray River. Towns in this proximity include Merbein, Mildura, Red Cliffs, Robinvale and Euston. An estimated +20% of the national annual grape crush comes from this area.

This specific region was originally settled as far back as 1850 by pioneers for grazing sheep. In 1887, two Canadians the Chaffey brothers, set up the first irrigation practices. Dried sultanas and raisins were then produced, and from the 1950’s, citrus. In the last decade the production of table and wine grapes in the region has grown extraordinary.

This region is one of the major grape growing regions in the whole of Australia, as its long periods of sunshine giving hot and dry days in summer, and more milder days in winter. Its natural water supply are perfect inputs for the production of beautiful grapes with fine ripe fruity flavors as evidenced in these wines we present to you.

Our region produces a range of varietals, including of course the  Cabernet Sauvignon we present.

The reds from the region generally have medium to deep colour with heaps of fruit flavour.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance:  Bright, deep crimson.

Aroma: Black-currant, cherry and red berry. Fruit aromas, complemented by toasty oak.

Palate: Medium-bodied red with ripe dusty tannins.

Finish: A lingering fruit-filled finish.
