Palm kernel shell is a by-product derived from the extraction of palm kernel seedlings for the palm oil.

Palm kernel shell is natural fuel derived from the fruits found on the palm oil trees. They are the residue from the seeds of the fresh fruit bunches after the oil have been extracted from the seeds. The light traces of oil still found in the wasted shells still provides a very good souce of natural heating fuel source for industrial boilers, kilns, furnances, etc. The calorific value is at least 4200 kcal/kg.
