Also known as
Scallion or Green Onion, they are a variety of young onions with a long, thin white base that has not yet developed into a bulb and long straight green stalks that look like giant chives. Spring Onion tends to be milder tasting onions. Both white bottoms and green tops are commonly used steamed and set in western cookery (usually salad) and many Asian recipes.We choose spring onion in 45 cms of length, dark green leaves, not dry, no yellow leaves, no rotten stems, and free-worms as our export quality standard. All selected spring onions are been clean-washed, put into plastic bag (each bag contains 250 grams), and 40 bags place into 1 Styrofoam box (10 kgs nett for each box), together with ice-bags.
