Description
Dextrose anhydrous is white crystalline powder with molecular formula C6H12O6 and molecular weight 180. Its CAS registry No.is 50-99-7. It has a dextrose content of minimum 99.0% with moisture content of maximum 1.0% only. The heat of solution at 25 C is -60.7 J/g thus giving cooling effect when consumed.

Applications
Anhydrous dextrose is extensively used in parental solutions as a source of water and calories and with electrolytes it makes a maintenance solution.
It is a major constituent in oral rehydration salts.
